To Create the BEST Social Dancers and Instructors in the World!

What and HOW are you going to teach tonight?

Is this YOU...?

  • Trying to market, run a business, advertise, and teach all your classes by yourself?
  • Your Business / Dance Partner(s) / teachers not showing up?
  • Coming home from Congresses even more confused about how & what to teach?
  • Frantically looking up "Cool Moves" to teach from Youtube?

  • Forgetting what you taught a month ago?
  • Frustrating your students because there is no logic to how you are progressing them?
  • Showing moves that don't build upon the previous weeks or months?

  • Beginner students arguing that they should be in the advanced group?
  • Struggling over how to organize / come up with a curriculum / syllabus?
  • Losing students because what you are teaching is either too repetitive, non-leadable, or un-retainable?

We Eliminate ALL THAT

There is no other system IN THE WORLD that is this detailed,
and this well thought-out.

HOW BELTS ARE EARNED OVER TIME:

Students who do not wish to be instructors earn their White through Black Belts over time.

Apprentices (Baby Blue Belts) earn the above, but also learn both the Lead and Follow at every level. This can take anywhere from 1 to 5 years.

Professional Instructors learn the above, starting at the DBM level, then continuing from Purple Belt through 3rd Degree Black Belt.
This can take as much or as little time as possible, depending on your experience, and level of committment.

DBM:  http://www.DanceBusinessManagement.com  (28 Online Training Hours - downloadable format)
The DBM qualifies you to train other professional instructors to Red Belt, but only AFTER your have successfully completed your DBM Certification. This is why this is the first step, prior to your travelling to your nearest Red Belt instructor to commence your professional training starting with Purple Belt.

  1. Purple Belt is how to successfully teach Dance Classes and Privates (online course) (15 - 20 Hours)

  2. Blue Belt is the entire Salsa Curriculum both On1 and On2, Lead and Follow. (40- 60 hours)

  3. Brown Belt is the entire Curriculum again, this time with Lead and Follow Spins added. (40 hours)

  4. Red Belt is the entire Curriculum again, this time with Lead and Follow Styling added. (40 hours)
    • By the time you get to Red Belt, you will have gone thru the physical training curriculum three (3) times.

  5. Red/Black Belt is the entire Curriculum again, this time with Musicality added. (40 Hours)

  6. 3rd Degree Black Belt is the highest level you can achieve at BBS.  (90 hours)

edie the salsa freakI haven't been at my studio for 4 months and Salsa Classes are at a 53% increase in students.   The methods your DBM taught about leverage and looking for the right type of person to put in place has been a true relief and a boat load of fun from the student stand point! - W.M., Fayetteville, NC

edie the salsa freakBBS In the News!!
Tonya Outlaw's students have earned White Belts in their training. But they didn't do so by learning blocks, kicks and offensive moves associated with martial arts.

Instead, they have learned basic Salsa steps and turns in Black Belt Salsa, a new method of teaching Salsa developed by "Edie the Salsa Freak," a world-renowned Salsa instructor based in Colorado.

Students follow a curriculum for each belt level and earn belts as they master Salsa techniques. Belts range from the white belt - mastering right turns, left turns, core and dips - to green belt - adding complexity and creativity to the core moves. Students can test to be an instructor after mastering the highest belt. Click here to continue story...

edie the salsa freakWhat a wonderful experience your course was!
You covered a lot of what I hadn't thought of, things that if I would have known before starting out that I would have done differently. It was a great learning experience and I will definitely utilize all of the knowledge that was given for my company and encourage other instructors to take your course as well! I would definitely recommend this course to all of my fellow instructors!
- J.C. Ft. Lauderdale, FL

edie the salsa freakYou certainly gave me great insight on how to improve how I teach my classes & how I conduct my business back in Atlanta. It was also great to meet other instructors & to have the opportunity to network with other dance studio owners all over the U.S...
- S.C. Atlanta, GA

edie the salsa freakIf it wasn't for the blend of styles and techniques in the BBS I would have had a nightmare time.
Went dancing last night here in my city. Really opened my eyes as to why we need the BBS and a structured syllabus. I danced with 10 different girls and each one did something completely different. Guys were struggling to lead these girls.  But I was able to keep a venezulean girl happy by dancing "cumbia" and then moved to another girl who only knew LA. I ended up getting compliments all night from the girls I danced with because I adapted to them but still led. It was awesome.
- GH, Canada

edie the salsa freakI felt that your stories told was the most important part. They were a great help in understanding the business side as a dance instructor, as well as the experiences that went on in getting to where you have become today. Another thing that I felt was most important - BLUE TAPE! I will attend another Instructors Training, in fact, I already have a few that are wanting to go to the next Instructors Training!
- A.A. Los Angeles, CA

edie the salsa freakHow to start ... OUTSTANDING! PHENOMENAL! LIFE ALTERING!  I'd attended two of your classes prior to this (DBM and White Belt Certification) next level of certification. I had my chair upright, seatbelt buckled and my tray table stowed in the locked and upright position and still I wasn't prepared for the level of instruction and intensity of these courses.

No one teaches the whys like you do Edie. In many, many, many seminars and classes that I've attended. They tell you what to do ... but never the whys. You shared the whys, which in turn connected all of the dots. Being willing to recognize that I didn't know what I didn't know ... made the it possible to see the connectedness. WOW! I'm preparing myself for the next belt now. I am convinced, "Clarity is the first lesson in learning". You brought the clarity and I was more than able to learn!!!

Thank-you for taking the time and devoting the energy to designing and developing this system. You and your team deserve the highest accolades.
